Immunization Awareness Month
With the second half of the summer upon us, it’s time to start thinking about baseball playoffs, the start of football season and going back to school. That means it’s also time to start thinking about flu shots and vaccinations.
Before your kids go back to school, you need to make sure that their vaccinations are up to date. But vaccinations are not just for kids. Adults need to stay current, too.
You can see a list of recommended vaccinations and immunizations at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. They list the recommended immunization schedules by group—children age 18 and under, adults over 18, pregnant women and more. Check out the website and make sure you and your kids have had all of the recommended vaccinations. And remember to talk to your doctor about which vaccinations make sense for you and your family.
With flu season right around the corner, remember that you can also get a FREE flu shot starting August 1. Local 94 participants can get a FREE flu shot by visiting any pharmacy that participates in the OptumRx network. Visit our Flu Shot page to learn more about how this important benefit works.
